Caspian Fashion Week took place from June, 6 to June, 9 in the heart of Astrakhan, in Astrakhan Kremlin. More than 30 collections were presented by prospective designers from Russia and as well as other countries. This time CFW geography included Kazakhstan, France and Austria. For the first time 6 designers from Chechnya took part in CFW. The show room zone was the biggest one of all the seasons. Clothing and accessories from local and foreign producers was presented there.
Season 9 of CFW was opened by a show of a Russian brand Migliore Fashion that presented dresses for proms and weddings. All the dresses were made of flowing fabrics with the elements of handmade embroidery. The brand was awarded a nomination of “Discovery of the year” and the opportunity to present a new collection at the upcoming fashion week in Baku.
Another important event of the fashion week was an invitation made to a young brand Kurkulday to participate in Kazakhstan fashion week. Designers Nelya Muchaeva and Kamila Kolomiytseva presented linen sarafans of pastel colors, pajama looks made of Italian nubby as well as shirt dresses with a sweet addition of boater hats. The girls created a relaxed summer atmosphere on the catwalk and thanks to this they won the director of Aktau Fashion Week Kayrat Zhumakhan.
For the first time the organizers awarded the Audience Choice Award that was granted to a young brand Ferda. Designer Faia Bilatova created a collection of outfit dresses for young princesses. The collection impressed the audience with its grace and diversity.
The finishing chord of Caspian Fashion Week 9th season in Astrakhan. Kremlin was the show of a Chechen brand MADLEN and a group show of pupils of Madlen Design School, a school founded by the designer Madlena Dzhamurzaeva. The collections showcased national dresses in pastel shades accompanied by details in print fabrics. Flowing silk was unusually expressed in the asymmetric cut of wide sleeves. Transparent organza shawls with edge ornament along the edges covered the models’ heads.
For the first time the closing day of Caspian Fashion Week took place off – premise. Guests were invited to a luxury hotel out of town where several collections were presented again, but in a different format: the shows took place near the swimming pool. It brought to life the director’s long-held idea: to push the envelope with the clothing show and make it outside the usual catwalk.
Again Caspian Fashion Week collaborated with French textile house INDUO whose fabrics are stain resistant due to a unique technology. This season an impressive effect was demonstrated in a kids collection of Caspian Fashion Week ambassador, Yana Khusnitdinova. Speaking of kids collections, it should be mentioned that the new season of the main fashion event of Caspian region was declared “family season”: kids collections were presented and the spokesperson of CFW for the first time was chosen an 11 – year old girl, Kira Lebedeva.
Show director had a hand in small surprises. During one of the shows there was a performance of a winner of the sixth season of the show “Voice. Children” Renata Tairova. Also some of the shows were accompanied by vibrant dances: hip-hop befitting a youth brand or traditional Caucasian dances that opened the show of a Chechen brand MADLEN.
For the first time since its beginning, the showroom of Caspian Fashion Week was so widespread. Comparing with the previous season it has grown twice. The guests had an opportunity to see clothes, accessories, cosmetics and souvenirs from the greatest producers of Astrakhan, Moscow, Volgograd, Armenia and Kazakhstan.
Business and educational program of the 9th season was also eventful. Among the speakers there were professor of British Higher School of Design in Moscow Darya Yadernaya with the lecture on PR mechanisms, inspiration source and sport; founder of an online shop RUSdesigners.ru Malena Mayakovskaya; editor in chief of a magazine “Designers from Russia” Tamara Rutskaya.
Upon the whole, the 9th season of Caspian Fashion Week was visited by more than 2000 viewers, it also gathered the record number of mass media: each day more than 100 photographers and videographers including TV workers, were accredited.
The organizers announce the 10th season of CFW to take place in autumn.
